Customer needs that perfect frame...

Hi Everyone...I need help! This seems very simple, but I am at a loss as to where to find a moulding for one of my more particular customers! I've turned to you, who know framing products better than any sales rep.
I am looking for a 2" wide knotty pine with a honey (oak) stain, not a clear one, without any color wash on it. This seems like a very simple thing and should be easy to find, but I have checked with 10 different distributors and so far, no luck! Any ideas?

Check out La Marche #'s R-9000, R-9010 and R-9050. Could be a good match. Give them a call and see if they can send 3" chips to you. (usually quicker than corners and catalogs and reps...!) Good luck!!

Of all the Knotty pine I have used I like LaMarches the best. They do have afew problems with warping so order a little extra if you can. Also, you never know how many knots that you may get. A knotty pine looks funny with only one knot in the whole frame.

Ditto on everyone elses comments on this line. also good to ask customer if they want a lot of knots or fewer. In the past, La Marche has been good about following my requests for sticks following my guidelines. Order extra to cut accordingly and don't cut thru a knot as it will break out. Enjoy!

Thanks to all of you for your great advice! I finally got LaMarche to send samples and my customer was happy with the knottiness of the pine! The shades of the stain wasn't perfect", but close enough to please him. I don't think my search would have been as successful if it hadn't been for The Grumble...Thanx!Marlene.
