One of my first customers. Definitely the most prolific customer (not always big projects, some fix/change). A very interesting customer! She and her family are moving to Gallup New Mexico at the end of the summer. I just found out today.

I did a search in the directory and did not see anyone in that area - but are any of you near enough? If so, I'd love to hook her up with a grumbler!! She likes little independent stores!

Let me know,

Roz

Being a grumbler is not at all a form of professional recognition. Reversely, being a god framer does not oblige anyone to become a grumbler either. A few grumblers are very accomplished framers but most are here to learn. If you truly respect your client you don't hook her with just about anybody who happened to be a grumbler (that is s/he have posted a few Q or A in here asking perhaps for a certain molding by LaMarche or a reliable and affordable source for round and oval frames, yet never heard of ILO).

If she can't find a shop she likes in Gallup,
have her stop by and see our place in Albuquerque... A casual (dare I say "funky") mom-pop shop that has been here for nearly 30 years. We're loaded with ready-mades for the artist-on-a-budget, and about 2500 corner samples for those that prefer a custom look. We currently have five framers who have a collective total of 78 years in custom framing.

We're a couple hours away from Gallup, but we have other customers in that neighborhood who stop by our shop several times a year.

Have her call me at (505) 237-2911, and I'll be glad to welcome her to New Mexico.

Whynot - I understand what you are saying and couldn't agree more. But there are grumblers that I would recommend if I knew someone was moving to an area. It would certainly be up to the person to then decide if they were on the same page.

Matoaka - thanks - she did mention that she might have to go to Albuquerque - how far is it anyways!!!

Thanks,

Roz

I love New Mexico..! Almost started a shop in Taos.
Liked the 4 corners aspect of it all. Got homesick though so we left. I think if we ever sold out we would move there.
