custom Embossing

Embossing dies for unspecified use and size usually cost about $937,843.21 for set-up and then cost of materials used. Yours may cost a little more or a little less depending on who you are and where you are...... care to fill out your profile just a wee bit more. And while you're doing that, maybe you could explain what kind of embossing, how big and what kind of embossing press you're using currently.

You mean you can't read my mind? Amatuer.
I meant embossing wood molding.
My profile, I'll get to it., Thanks

What type of machinery do you own to do this. I have seen some used equipment in the past that would give you the capacity to emboss wood as low as $50,000 to $100,000. The wheels used to emboss the wood could be purchased for as little as $5,000 per pattern but that all depends on the type of wood and how intricate of a pattern you are looking for.

We still need more info to put you in the business of manufacturing embossed wood moulding.

Jeez Jeff, crack the guy a break.. he may be on budget...

This one is only $98K US.... but that is FOB Hong Kong. Embossing wheels are about 3K each.

If it's just a "shape" or profile... you're just looking for a "sticker" that cuts the shape. Then you need a multi-wheel tri-axial sander.... then you pass the moulding through the embosser. All used equipment? About $200k.

Cheaper to just contract to have it done for you. An embosser is something you want to keep running 60 hrs a week.

Right,
Clearity ---I see you guys are searching for that--- I think that what I am looking for is my own wheel and for someone to make my run. So, I see a figure of $3000.00 for a wheel, and then what ever someone would charge per foot. Is that close to reality?

What sort of pattern had you in mind? If it's nothing too outlandish you may find that something suitable is already available which could be stuck to a plain wood section. I'm thinking general woodworking suppliers rather than picture framing.
Unless you are thinking of huge quantities, this might be a better option.

Many of the factories overseas have patterns for you to choose from and they just run the contracted quantities. No charge for the equipment and a lot of selection.

Search for an overseas manufacturing agent. There are some in Vegas at the show.

branded moulding may be hot some day--a la gucci.

I was looking to design my own, as a 'branding' device.

Contact a buying agent and thery will have the factory make it for you. These can be made as your own property giving you exclusive use or can be done as one added to their offerings.

Google picture framing moulding overseas agent and you should get quite a list. You can have it done here in the states but production costs will be at least 10 of overseas.

If you are serious and have at least $25,000 ready to be spent on production immediately I will hook you up with someone that can get it done.
