I have ten heavy (200g) medals to frame. Diameter of one medal is 70mm and thickness 5mm. They should be framed in a way that they are leaning on an acrylic holder at an angle of about 70 degrees and they could be easily removed and handled. Anybody has a sketch of such a holder? The holder could be attached to the backing with a epoxy glue or screws. I have an acrylic fabricator in town, I just wanted to know if someone has a working holder concept for this purpose and is willing to share the idea.

Thanks.

Sounds like this would work. I would add a small lip to edge of the support so the medal wouldn't fall forward.

Always so nice to hear from you Hannu.

I am assuming that these are competitive medals for sports or something similar. I have framed many such medals but not in the manner that you describe. I am quite sure that somebody will come forth with a photo of their creation for ideas for you.

I can suggest a few ideas of my own but I will defer to those who have already done an access shadowbox (possibly an acrylic box) for such medals. If you are doing the entire display in acrylic it will be different than my ideas as I would place them in a wood box with a removeable door held on with rare earth magnets or something in that order.

Good luck with your design.
