I've noticed that some of my Crescent Select
mats aren't matching their samples. A couple
examples would be #9583 (Peanut Butter)
and #9512 (Mummy). Way off. If the samples
fade this fast, will the mats, too?

Just curious if you all have noticed anything
like this.

9512 is one of my favorites, I have not noticed and changes, what conditions are your samples in? Are they under florescent lights all day? In sunlight?

Thanks for the answers, guys. Randy, that's
one of my favorites, too. They're never in
direct sunlight. We do have color corrected
florescent lights, but with the mats stored
on those triangle style racks, only the front
mat is exposed to light.

I noticed it yesterdaym, and especially with
the 9583, the difference is so much, it could
be a completely different color. Makes me
jumpy about all of them.

Yes, we have occasional trouble with them being off too. Had to actually replace a matted job with a completely different mat color about 6 weeks ago, because the beige mat that we received had more orange in it than the sample did and she hated it. I explained to the customer that, just like moulding can have slight variations from one batch to the next, it's also possible for mat colors to vary.

We've noticed at least 3 mats in the last 2 months where the sheet we received has been noticeably different from the corner sample.

I don't think it's fading, I think it's differences in the colors in different production batches. The samples are not exposed to the light very often, and our Cresent Select samples are less than 2 years old so they haven't aged much.

I actually became worried just this week as a mat in my rack had been sticking out some...and the part sticking out had faded. It had not been in the rack that long. I just recently started using select on some posters and this has me a little worried. Back in the shop it is all flourescent lighting.
