Thank all of you for the wealth of information I have learned from The Grumble. Now, can any of you tell me a simple formula for cutting cove mats? They are mentioned in several reference books but no clear instructions. I know you make a quick box and the more you cut from the corners the greater the depth. And that is all I know about them.

Raphael's has a nice line of shallow scoop liners in a variety of widths that look dynamite covered in fabric.

A number of years ago I bought a kit for making cove mats while I was at one of the Trade Shows. I think it was in Las Vegas but am not sure now. I have used it many times and it is very easy. I especially liked it using suede mats. Here is the address they had then:
