Hewlett Packard - The Good, Bad and Ugly

I've opted to post this here because COSTCO deserves the attention. I'm still in shock.....

After dealing with HP for about two weeks, the executive office would only offer $50 and ink jets
towards a new purchase. That's not at all satisfying since it doesn't compare to my $480+ loss. So......I readied myself to trash the unit and replace it with a Brother. First, I wanted to be certain that COSTCO would give me a full refund on the two sets of ink jet cartridges I had purchased just one month earlier, at a tune of about $120. When I went to COSTCO's refund counter they gladly gave me my money back and asked why I was returning them. "Because my HP All-In-One Printer that I bought here broke and HP has no replacement parts." The clerk said, "just bring it back to us for a refund". I told her it was 2 1/2 years old and had only a 1 year warranty. She replied, "That's fine, COSTCO has a great refund policy!" I was in absolute shock! All the GRIEF and time I went through with HP....I took the unit back and they credit me on the spot!

COSTCO RULES!!!!!!!!!!

I might add that I've done my Merchant Credit Card business through them for about 7 years now and have never had a problem!

So.......I highly suggest you take heed with my experience. I sure learned something - that's for sure!

Our COSTCO Home Store sells custom framing. I once had the opportunity to chit-chat with the custom framing salesperson and was told that they don't do the framing on the premise's, but rather send it to a central location.

I have included this concept in my "value for doing business with SDI" 'portfolio', assuring customers that their art work stays on the premises.

Of course, I don't know if all COSTCO's have the same system, but if you get the chance, you might ask.

Since I have an HP All-in One, I'll keep this in mind.

Bravo Costco!
Gotta love their money back guarantee on products and membership.

Curious...does their "business" membership provide you with any other benefits? (apart from credit card processsing)

I should add that you need the sales receipt (which I keep ALL). If I hadn't had the receipt they told me they'd only reimburse a portion.

No doubt you ALL keep ALL receipts!

Costco's return policy is superior. We try to buy our computers and any electronics there because of the return policy. And you should check their business centers for supplies for your store from rubber mats for the floor to towel dispensers for the bathrooms.

I try to keep records and receipt copies in a file or a ziplock attached to the back of the computer and somehow mark the front of the computer with the date I bought it, always helps when the senior mind says I only bought this equipment a year ago but the tag says 3 years!

We have a costco home store near us and someone let the cat out of the bag and told us what local shop does the framed mirrors for them and they are lucky if they get 4 orders a week, somehow you would expect more from a Costco. They use to have LaMarche moulding, wonder who they have now
