The main problem is with the blue/black of most corrector pens I've found. I was using Lyra brand - wonderful - a proper 'black' but just had email from them in Germany that they aren't making them anymore.
What other brands are being used for correction and prior to joining mouldings? - looking for a true 'black'

Chartpak. I have the set of 20-25 but only use about half of them with the blender pens.

We have a black acrylic paint pen that does a fairly good job on small spots on black frames.

Doncha just hate those plasticy or foil finishes that nothing sticks to? There is almost always a shiney spot on a foil based finish that is nearly impossible to touch up.

We use Tombo # N15 Black. It is a water soluble pen with two points. It has a large pointed brush at one end and a small fine point at the other. We like water soluble pens as they do not damage finishes on mouldings. Actually, we have a rack of Tombo that has just about all of their colors. We also have a set of permanent markers for wood that we purchased from CMI moulding in San Diego. Sometimes the water soluble pens just don't do the job. It is rare, but it happens.

If you don't like the black, you can always use the dark grey. It doesn't have the same 'shiny blue' finish

Sometimes though if I am working with a tough frame I use black gesso or acrylic paint.
