Attention CT framers.

I just received a letter from the CT Dept. Of Revenue Services that they lost a laptop (those clowns always put our data on laptops and manage to lose them....:fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire:) with my name and SS number.

They do provide 1 year of free monitoring with Debix, an ID monitoring company.

Here's the link to the DRS website to verify if your data is stolen (and if it is, they give you a code to start the free monitoring service):

Good luck with that, Paul.

It's happening in Ohio, too. A state agency used to require an intern to take home backup disks of data every night. Recently he left them in his car and, you guessed it, somebody stole them. The intern claims it wasn't his fault, and he's partially right. What kind of idiot department manager would send home thousands of citizens' SSNs and other personal data every night with a college kid?

A laptop computer was also stolen a few months ago.

We will probably have nationalized healthcare in just a few years, and the thought of another new, irresponsible, uncaring government agency taking charge of our healthcare is a bit unsettling. Makes me sick just to think about it.
