My clock has gone nuts. Apparently the server where it gets the time thinks it is already Eastern Daylight time. I corrected it manually, but yesterday I was late getting home because I thought it was only five o’clock according to the menu bar.

Anyone else experiencing this anomaly?

By any chance is it Windows 98 or Windows 2000?

There was a Microsoft update a couple years ago to fix this (daylight savings date change) for most operating systems. Those, however, are so old that they didnt have a patch (but I have one if you need it!)

I think Bill has an Apple. We had the same problem with one of our computers (and the VCR). Oddly enough, it wasn't the one with the oldest operating system. That one is fine. It was one of our XP machines. The website we send our photo orders to the lab through keeps changing the time on it.

Give up and "enjoy" the insanity....My first computer NEVER had the correct time, even when re-set.And nope, it wasn`t another time zone,it just sorta displayed whatever it was in the mood to! (Win 98)

Bill has an apple?? how is that possible, I thought apple never made any mistakes

Come on, obviously it's not his Mac that's the problem, it's the (windows) Server that's causing the problem....

Yeah, I’ve got a Mac, but I assume that the server is probably not.

It’s even more peculiar, though. The clock when I’m running OS 10 is okay, but when I switch back to OS 9, it reads an hour earlier than it is. Very curious.

And, my wife missed one of her programs on TV ‘cause the VCR prematurely went back to Eastern standard, too.

It’s a windoze conspiracy, I tell ya!

well a lot of old devices (vcrs, ovens, microwaves, alarm panels, some alarm clocks, Apple OS9, Windows98 and Windows2000) have the old daylight savings dates memorized. Devices like this work off GMT and a time zone adjustments, and make changes for DST.

A patch is needed so it knows the new dates for daylight savings.

In a day, they should correct themselves :) It's just the gap between the old date and the new one where it will be off one hour.
