I have been trying to get an answer to this question and have not had luck getting responses from the manufacturers, so thought I would ask here in case someone can tell me how to better ask the question....

I am trying to find out if any of the other mat companies color code their samples like Bainbridge. I find it a useful tool, especially when choosing not-quite-whites to know if it has a blue, red or yellow base. I am wondering if anyone knows where i can find that information for Crescent, Peterboro and Rising.
Or, for any who sort their mats by color, how do you decide for the mats that aren't primary or secondary colours?

Huh???

I found the color coding from Bainbridge not always that accurate either. Not all greens together for instance. It also seems that some of the 'families' grouped together, are very large.

I have a good color feel, as long as I put the samples where I can find them; I'm okay.

For my Artique samples; I have all the light colors in the front, and all the dark in the back. If I look for a 'black', I have all the darks together; darkest green, blue, purple, grey, blacks etc.
Might not work for everyone; but it works for me.

Mine were properly color-sorted and arranged once, 4 years ago. Since then I just go by "this looks like it would fit in here"

Oh my. We are lucky if we get the greens back in the green slot, and the blues in the blue in our two caddies. Then there are the three tiers of fabrics in the rolling rack. We had four designs going at once this afternoon with all three computers taking orders on Frame Ready. Mat and moulding samples were everywhere. Somehow we lost a whole series of LJ moulding samples in the Petite group. Still can't find them. It was a good day.

Properly sorted? ROTFL! I grab a bunch of reds, fan them out, it they don't work, I take all the reds from the special order caddies under the counter. No fancy organization. Just experience and color sense.

If anyone would like to come by and organize my mat samples you are very welcome! That would be a refreshing change.
