Has anyone ever used colored or patterend kraft paper on the back of their wood frames? I would like to try something other than brown or black and wondered if there are any issues with using a colored or patterned version. Would be interested to hear anyone's thoughts. Thanks!

I have used indigo blue kraft from Vicki Schober in Milwaukee and it was a very nice look.

I recently switched to an emerald green and it is kinda disgusting.

I don't see any reason to use brown kraft except that it's readily available and cheap.

Yeah, Ron Eggers uses colored paper on some of his framing. I guess it all depends on what you have available and whether the supply is there consistently or not. And there have been other Grumblers that have said that they use heavy gift wrapping paper, and I have even heard of somebody using a print cloth on the back of the frame over the usual dust cover to give it some "dressup" look.

(Now get yer butt back to those insurance forms, guy!!)

I use the blue Lineco paper on the back of all of my frames. It's a blue/gray color and looks very nice with silver hardware. Plus it's acid-free.

We use black Kraft as our default backing, blue lineco for conservation/high end projects, and brown to wrap the finished packages.

I rematted a Ducks Unlimited print the other day that had "DUCKS UNLIMITED" printed diagonal across the backing paper. This was really really sharp looking.

It would be nice to have your logo/name printed.

Carry on!

Thanks for all of the great ideas. Anyone have suppliers that they use for the Blue Lineco paper or olter colored Kraft papers?
