CMC 6100 - need help Designers Choice

I am trying to cut a triangle and a rectangle in a mat one layer. I am not seeing any templates to help me start so I am using designers choice option. I have what I think is the design I want but when I press 'cut' it starts the routine then stops and i get 'check entity'. I have tried redoing lines, and it keeps moving to another entity.
Any help available for this?

Just for another opinion...I always do these type things in Delta cad.
It's easier then Designer choice.
