The subject tells my tale. I accidentally bumped a linen covered liner (joined/completed) with the back of a very dark frame, putting a nice stain streak on the light toned linen.

Anyone have something to take the stain away -- without adding another stain? (My guess is that no one will come up with a satisfactory answer. How's that for a challenge?!)

An old method we used to use was very simple, get an eraser, Art Gum or whatever & just erase the mark. Whatever you try, don't try lquids, that will stain it for sure.

I never had much luck removing stains--but someone I know had a dry cleaner friend that did take the stains out of one of his linen liner frames. I didn't see the end result--just the before stain. But he told me it looked like new.

Try spraying the stain with K2r Spot lifter and follow the instructions on the can. If that doesn't work make a new liner. I have failed to remove similar stains several times; actually, I qualify as an expert in not removing stains from liners.

You can get that stuff for cleaning car upholstery from car accessories shops. It has worked for certain things with me before. You can buy removers for various stains.Like lipstick..teehee.

C'mon Reynard. Aren't you going to tell us how you got lip stick stains on the liner in the first place?

Please?

You know how this works. If you don't tell us, we'll make up our own scenario.

You have been warned!

So I am thinking... go to store, buy K2R, try it, doesn't work, go to store, buy upholstery cleaner, try it, doesn't work, go to store buy... shouldn't you just bite the bullet and order another rail?

Thanks, all, for the replies. I tried K2R, Unseal, paint thinner, alcohol. amniotic fluid from a pregnant Tasmanian Devil -- all I got was a good buzz. It was hopeless from the start. Wood stain and linen do not mix.

You can repaint it! We do it all the time. Use Latex paint in the color closest to the linen. You might need to mix and repaint the whole liner.
