Oddball question here.

We had a customer call that has an older map.
They would like to make it roll up like a map in a classroom in the 70s.
We are looking for thoughts on how to do this.
We are likely going to turn the project down, but looking for ideas anyway.
Possibly using a roller shade as the starting point.

You could have some fun with this, IF the map is easily replaceable. 'Older map' can mean a variety of things. Maps the way they were used in classrooms probably needed frequent replacement.

I like the roller shade idea.
They will likely bring the map in next week with another project.
We will see what the condition and rarity is.

Do you have a way to mount the map to fabric? The old maps had a pretty stout fabric backing. I'm old enough to remember.

Could the map be scanned and reprinted to canvas?

You can get a pull-down projection screen for like $50. You could probably engineer something out of that.
