Circle Cutter

Has anyone used the Alto's Model 360 circle cutter?

This is the first time I've needed to cut a circular mat (25" circle) in 5 years so I don't want to invest in a "real" machine in case the next time I need one is 5 years from now.

Is it a good machine??

Joel, don't waste your time, there has to be a CMC someplace in Palm Beach. Call your local supplier and ask who has one. I would be surprised if any framer would turn you down. It would only take a couple of minutes to cut, they would probably do it while you wait.

I have one and on the rare occasion I've needed a small circle it's worked great. Make a few practice cuts first. The only thing I don't like about it is the cut is made on the face of the mat. If you're not careful you can leave a circular pattern on the mat from the arm. So, I put a piece of kraft paper under the cutter. Mark the center of the circle on the back of the mat, use the pin to punch a whole at the center mark, then flip the mat over to make your cut.
