Hey everyone...
I have a customer looking for a one inch wide chrome frame. Not white gold, but real chrome. I haven't seen anything like that, but she swears it exsists because her mother has one. I'm contacting Small Corp to see if they can make me an inch wide polished aluminum frame as a second choice, but this designer wants chrome. If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know! Thanks....

Try Milton Bosley in Baltimore, MD, 410.761.7727. They might have a website and toll free, so try a search first. They are an architectural moulding company, but do have some pic mouldings, and I once found a chrome faced moulding (wood underneath) there for a customer. Good luck.

Have you looked at Framerica's Stainless line?

Thanks for the links! I didn't even think of Framerica's lines, since we don't have them in the shop. Thank you again!

Anything can be chromed, given it has been made conductive in some way. You can make a plastic frame conductive if it is coated in copper first, then you can send it to an electroplater to chrome it.
BTW: The framica Stainless line doesn't have much in common with chrome, just look at it!

Not that I'm saying to make a plastic frame! But to make a truly chrome frame you could use an aluminum chop, have the legs plated, and then fit it.
I use karat gold, and the look between one karat and another is significant. Just like the different smells of wood when being cut, no two are alike.
If it is real chrome they want, give them real chrome...and charge accordingly.

There are very decent nielsen 117s that look like chrome and are industrial looking. If I had to go look for a true chrome frame, I cannot imagine what I would have to charge. I have had customers use the 117 on harley davidson pieces that wanted a chrome look and were thrilled with it!
