What do you do when a customer sends you a Christmas card?

Go get one and send one back?
Send a store gift cert or small gift?
Nuthin?

What if they are famous and you figure they may send out cards to anyone they may come across? Would that change your response?

I don't send out Christmas cards to my customers.
I send Thanks for your business cards about the middle of November. In it I include an incentive to bring their framing early to avoid the rush. Seems to work. I get several cards from customers but don't feel the need to send
cards again.

I send out cards to my top customers... and I get very few from customers...

I would do what you do if it happens on a personal level...

I think it’s nice that one/some of you customers send you cards, but I would opt for “Nuttin”.

Clearly if she thinks of you as nice enough to send you a card, she doesn’t expect anything in return like a gift certificate.

If you send a card, she’ll just think it’s a “oh, gee, I got a card so I’ve gotta send one back” response.

I’d do nothin’.

We met a couple several years ago on one of the ships. We had dinner a couple of times with them and hung out on two islands with them.

In their own rights they were a pair of well know writers.. I had actually probably met Bob at one of the writers conventions over the year but didn't remember.

One night they asked for our home address so they could send a Christmas card. They even asked if it would be alright... strange. Then it got stranger... they told us that we wouldn't be able to send us a card, because they were never in one place long enough to have a 'home address'.

So right, we have recieved wonderful hand-made cards from all over the world..

But I got them back... I tracked down their publisist and sent a card last year about Oct...
they sent a letter with the card, laughing about how only I could think of that....

They send about 2,500-3,000 cards a year... just one of those fun things that fun couple loves to do. Go figure.
