I inherited a pistorius chopper (did I spell that right???) with an extra set of blades. I haven't used it so far, but tried it out on some fillets and liners. It seems it's been sharpened the wrong way (liner left an almost hollow gap) and it needs to be re-sharpened.
Does anyone have suggestions on where to ship them to? Will they be able to sharpen them the right way or am I looking at a new set of blades?

I’m having trouble picturing what you mean by a “hollow gap”. Is there any way you can post an image of not only the liner but also the blade set up on your Pistorius?

As far as sharpening is concerned, I’ve been sending Morsø blades to Quality Saw for several years. I am very happy with their service.

There is a specific way they need to be sharpened, and instructions usually come with the machine. But since you've inherited it, try to contact the manufacturer directly to get the instructions before selecting someone to sharpen them, or see if they can recommend someone in your area.

I have a Morso, and I have a local who does an exceptional job. Your blades should last for years.

If by "hollow gap" you mean that when joined the join touches at the rabbet, and touches at the back, but there is a "cat eye" shaped gap in the middle..... you have dull blades.

You say "Chopper" which refers to a guillotine knife blade miter cutter, but I've always thought of Pistorius as a "Saw" blade rig.

Either way, you're dealing with dull blades. The right way to sharpen either is that they end up sharp. All other discussion is just slicing fine hairs and that argument will never end.

Yes, it is a kind of cat eye shape when you look at the front of the liner. I would post pictures if my camera was working and I figured out how... will work on that in the future.
And yes, I really do have a pistorius chopper, not a saw system. Will find someone to sharpen the blades.
Thanks all!

I have a Pistorius; sounds like you need sharp blades. I send mine right to Pistorius - come back in about a week. E-mail if you don't have their address.
