I love all the changes that have been made to the Grumble recently. I'm still a fairly new Grumbler and I find the site informative and fun to read.

I've been doing some searching and found that you guys had a discussion a couple of years ago about adding a chat room. The feeling at that time was that there might not be enough interested. We seem to be growing every day and there certainly seems to be a lot of "guests" visiting the site as well.

A chat room would give us the opportunity to have scheduled topics or just communicate socially. I think that it might be fun.

Maybe a poll on this would be a good idea.

tedmc, if you are interested in chatting with us, many of us have Instant Messenger. MSN seems to be used the most, although some prefer to use AOL's IM. I have both.

If you are interested in joining us on a chat, just let me know, and I can send you an invitation to join the IM of your choice. (Then all we have to do is learn your schedual.)

We have to remember that we are dealing with people all over the world, and what might be convieniant for you, might be in the middle of the night for someone else.

As for a chat room, here on the Grumble, I would love to be a part of one. (But Ron might NEVER get any work done.)

Cherry,

Follow the link below to download MSN instant messenger, then just follow the instructions and viola! Your done.

web page

I personally don't have the time to sit on messenger and talk with someone too often. Besides I may be the slowest typer on the planet.

At the rate I type it’s cheaper for me to phone the US.

No kidding it’s less expensive to phone the US now from Ireland than it is to phone Europe.

I think they are trying to set Ireland up to be the next new State in the US by default we are almost there over 47 million US people claim links to the Ireland, there are only about 5 million people on the whole Island of Ireland, we have one of the lowest population densities per sq. meter in the world approx. ¼ of the population live in the Dublin area.

One nice thing in Ireland is that any income Artists derive from their artwork is tax-free.

As I understand, IM is limited to how many can chat.

Check out http://www.mirc.com

Us pipe smokers use it, and there's no limit to how many can chat at the same time. It's share-ware, you get 30 days free, and the cost is one-time and very nominal.

Would it be possible to post a poll on this subject? The thread is getting just a tad off topic.

Ted ;)
