I'm going to be backing up the site for transfer shortly. Once the site goes down that's where it will start on the new server. I will bring it back up here for a day or two but any NEW MESSAGES WILL BE LOST.

wow, RB, that's a really scary thought!

I don't mind the sinking and the oblivion but NO RIPPLES!!

That's a hard thought to handle.

(I hope this doesn't give me bad dreams tonight) :(

framer, not to bring up a sore subject, or beat a dead horse, but will the 'search' function return with the move to the new server?
 
Charles, I believe that's one of the reasons for changing servers - to restore the search function.

RevBev's observation, while partly in jest (I think,) may have special meaning with respect to some polls in the voting booth. I would recommend waiting until the new server is in place to cast your ballots.

Otherwise, very little is posted on the weekend that is worth saving. (I say this partly in jest.)
 
We need a Search Function. That is the main reason for the change. The server that I'm on limits my ability to maintain the files. Its killing my attempts to reindex the larger forums because of memory issues. I have not back up yet. I've been advised to resetup a empty copy of the board on the new server and check it out. Then backup and transfer. Backup may not take place until Sunday, Monday at the latest. This site will stay up for several days after transfer but I will place a note about the new location.

Thanks for clarifying, Bill. Now I'll spend the morning editing my misinformation. :( (Luckily, nobody listens to me anyway.)
