A customer has a ceramic platter around half a metre square (20 inches) square that they want to display on a wall.

I would like to know how you would go about it? A method of mounting it? In a frame perhaps?

Hooroo!

Hi Orton,
Check with In-Line Ovals. They have BEAUTIFUL plate holders and offer services of building things to order. they are in Canada.

Thanks for the suggestion Linda. Canada is a bit far away from here though.

I take it as a great compliment if you indeed have mistaken me for Orton!

oops! Osgood, I did misread your name as Orton's! And. my daughter pointed out that your platter is square. I wonder where my mind was wandering when I suggested oval frames! My response belonged on Warped!!

Your client may hope to see the whole item,
edges and all, but the safest way to house
such a fragile (and probably heavy) item is
in a sink with an over mat covering its edges. The sink can be made of polystyrene foam board and can be secured with strips
of linen tape stuck to the back side of the
window and passed through slits in the sink
to be secured on the back of the package.
The softness of the board in the sink should
provide some shock resistance for the item
and the window can be made deep enough to
accommodate any raised features on the ceramic.
