A friend and fellow framer has been looking for and asking me about an underpinner/Vnailer for a while.....A model Cassese 810 shows up for about $250.00....I have searched the archives and can't seem to find all the info I/she is looking for........I checked it out and it appears to work fine...My question is ...Can you find parts for this model ???.....And for you folks that have this model...Has it been dependable ???
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated....
Maybe At that price I shoud just buy it as a back up !!!

Thanks....

I have an 810 that was purchased by the shop in 1981 and been in use ever since. In the last year, I've had some problems with it, but my ex-husband has kept it going. Parts are becoming scare for the 810 but between Larson and Active Sales we have been able to get everything needed. I just bought something we don't need yet because the ex said we would need it eventually and there were only 2 left. The 810 has truly been a work horse for us.

I have had mine since 1986. Works like a charm. Larson can still get parts, and it is not THAT hard to fix. Worth it. I would not want to lose it.

However... if I had the money, I might look into a new model. The CS810 has limited height, and width. That might be a problem with the shadow box frames, or the wide mouldings that are in style right now.

CS810 is quite a good machine, but clamping pressure is only moderate. Driver is long and prone to failure. Active Sales are helpful with spares.

Parts diagrams are available online at the Cassese site.

At $250 how can you go wrong?
