Today is ordering day at Anabel's.

My automated ordering system (Judy) tells me we need to order cardboard corners, those things that come in a perforated sheet.

I hate those things. We normally use them on larger pieces and they invariably fall off, even when we tape them to the backing. Items waiting for pick-up are stored in vertical bins and when you slide them out, the bottom one usually falls off when sliding it out. Then you have to get a stick to fish it out. Sometimes they even fall off when carrying the piece to the car.

Has anyone found a better alternative?

Wrap the finished piece in a clear plastic bag. Tape the corners to the outside of the bag and everything comes off at one time.

I agree that those corner thingies are escape-prone if you don't fasten them down.

I visited a restaurant in suburban Chicago years ago (while I was taking a 3-day workshop from Vivian Kistler.) They had NO problem keeping those cardboard corners in place.

All the art was attached to the walls with gigantic wood screws through the frames and the cardboard corners were still in place.

It was shortly after that that I got in the habit of carrying a small camera everywhere.

Wow, that is too funny, and all the more ironic since you were at a framing seminar.

Doug, we order those from Tom Kedjie Projects. You missed a great Evergreen Picture Framers meeting in Pt. Townsend yesterday, the speaker was from PostNet, topic, shipping art. He showed us a neat styrofoam corner for shipping, but I digress.

The corners we have are flexible, they fold 3 sizes from one cut out, and yes sometimes a few fall off but for the most part they stay on. You should see how many we sell, either unfolded or predone.

Give me a call or come to the next meeting in November at Dunville Gallery and I will bring some with me.
