I am aware of scores of companies who do canvas transfers, but most of them do not appear to accept prints and posters from outside sources (like from us).

Does anyone have experience with vendors other than Old Grange Graphics who will transfer a print from something other than their own inventory?

I was doing all of my own, but have started using a local biz for the larger pieces---they do EXCELLENT work(& they are nice people)...when its applied to canvas they use a good deal of pressure to enhance the adhesion and the "canvas effect" .... Museum Bond, 12000 North Nebraska Avenue Suite C, Tampa, FL 33612, (813) 977-7378. their main stay is doing photo xfers but can/will do prints as well..I get 2-3 day turns(course Im local) but that's probably not just because Im another pretty face! Tell em Bill Ward/Alexandria Art Gallery put you on to them(wont help me but will tell them where you came across their biz)

whats wrong with old grange graphics?

I have been an OGG dealer since 1995. At the beginning of the year after sending in a piece for gallery wrapping, for some inexplicable reason, they “lost” my account number and insisted that I provide them with a credit card.

Okay, stuff happens. I gave them the card. When the piece was returned, the image had bled over the edge of the canvas. They made no effort to try to hide the flaw. I sent it back but they only made a halfhearted effort to fix it. I ended up having to paint the offending edges with a white acrylic paint.

Okay, stuff happens. I figured I’d give them one more chance: this time despite clear and precise instructions for an “aged and cracked” surface, it was returned without it (but nonetheless charged for it) and the laminated surface of the print was so cloudy that the image was almost unrecognizable.

OGG used to have a very nice product. Not any more. Their quality control in nonexistent.

Thanks for the responses. I will check them out.

Bob,

Unless I am missing something, Don Mar (? the MES system that you suggested) does not appear to have provisions for either brush strokes nor aged and cracked. Both of those options are very popular with our customers.
