Canvas Transfer Tape

Does anyone do canvas transfers, and if so, what do you use to cover the edges where the canvas wraps around the stretcher bars? The c/t's in the stores have a black tape around them. Where does one get this type of black tape? Are there any other ways to finish off the edges? Thanks for whatever help you can give.
