Does anyone know where I can buy a quality, wide jaw pliers as well as a Senco or similar stapler specifically designed for stapling canvas. Typically when I stretch canvas, I use pliers to pull tight, but then have to hold canvas taught with fingers and put pliers down before picking up stapler to staple. This is a big time waster. I have seen framers use staplers which seem to have a longer "nose" which allows stapling while holding canvas taught.

NOTE: I am aware of the arguments against using stretching pliers.

Tara which is Fredrix Canvas has a great pair of wide jaw pliers. Google Senco SFW10XP stapler and you will find it for about $160.

Get some Holbein's ... best pliers ever!

Super light Molybdenum with rubberized grip. 4-1/2" jaws.

Expensive but worth every penny.

Andrew the Fredrix pliers that nobody sells are the same design. The cheap chrome ones snap and trap your finger. Inside the jaws are rubber as well as the handles with a nice spring and the jaws are either 4" or 4 1/2".

Jeff, could you check that Senco model again please. The stapler I use now is a really old Senco that takes 3/8" crown staples. Is this the size you recommend or wider.

The size staples I use are the 1/2" crown. The stapler is a Senco SWF10xp. Purchased them from my local woodworking supplier. Just Google the number and you should find them fairly easy. It looks like you already have plenty of good leads on pliars. I still use pliars for my panos over 60" that will not fit in my Gallery Stretcher Machine, and hate it every time. YOMV.

I posted a link directly to the correct number. 1/2" or 5/8" crown is preferred to 3/8". The stapler can be purchased with different width crowns. Staples are dirt cheap also. I have one that is a different model with 3/8" crown and the staples are $18 for 35,000.
