Canvas binding

I have a customer asking about "Canvas Binding". This is not something I am aquainted will and I have done a google search....Any help would be appreciated.

Are they talking about sewing on a binding around a painting canvas that has almost no wastage to stretch it?

Man. I'd hate to see the poor baby that had canvas binding on their binkie?

Probably a layman's term for canvas stretching, would be my guess.

I'd ask to see the canvas before I made any decisions or gave an estimate on "binding" it.

I'll bet that search turned up some interesting sites. Are you sure it wasn't a subtle "Party" invitation? You may have to ask for clarification before deciding if you should give this a try.
