Help!

I recently purchased a used C + H Pro M60 mat cutter. I need the following:

1. A copy of the guide - I will be glad to pay for
---the cost of copying and shipping

2. Maintenance advise:the bevel blade cover screw
---must be tightened down extremely tight or it
---comes out of the cover and gets stuck in the
---mat.

3. Technical advise: the beginning and endings
---of my vee-groove attemps are curved/hooked.

Mitch,

I have tried leaning on the bar.

The blade still comes out of the cover. I think I
may need a new cover plate.

Also, I must choose where along the bar to place
the mat to be cut. There are portions of the bar
that will not hold the mat down while cutting.
The mat will move as the blade moves.

Does this mean the bar is bent? Or do the hinges
need to be adjusted? Any ideas?

Just in case someone else may have the same problems I had, I finally resolved most of them.

The table I have my cutter on is not level. In fact, it was sagging in the middle, which caused problems whenever I tried to used the middle of the mat cutter.

I shimmed the middle until I can get a new table and now the mat cutter is operating beautifully.

As for the blade comming out, it still does occassionally. It is better now, but useable. I plan to replace the blade cover anyway.

Any other problems are due to poor hand control.

Incidentally, the vee groove hooks went away once the mat cutter was level.

I hope someone else can learn from my mistake.
