Hello,

I am new to framing and to the Grumble. I have a successfull Multimedia store on Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. We laser engrave, produce banner signs and shoot alot of portraits for the base I am about to purchase a CMC machine to start framing my portraits for my customers as well as framing various prints that the base display. I found a used Wizard 8000 out in California with the embossing package in new like condition for the shipped to me price of $7100.00. Does anyone think that is a bad deal. Also I am considering purchasing the framing software Custom Framer Art. Has anyone used this software, I downloaded the demo version and I am impressed.

Welcome to the "G" West!

Sounds like a great price. I would contact Wizard to make sure the machine is transferable though and not a leased or rented unit that someone is selling off without having title to it.

Get the serial # and call Wizard.

There is a very nice lady here on the G that is selling her POS software and visualization package with ALL the hardware. See this thread:

She Integrated framer system by Wizard.

She's asking $1000.00 for it. It includes the computer, camera, cords, the program it's self and the moulding system for the ceiling mount.
It will be available after May 2nd.

For anyone who has purchased this...you know this is a steal. Being made by Wizard, the same place that makes the CMC you're thinking of buying (which by the way, is a great deal...but do follow through on checking the serial numbers with Wizard)... is even better.

West, you won't be sorry. That's a good price for purchase if the machine has been well-maintained, and it will make your life much easier.

I have just taken delivery of a new CMC and had installation done this week (with respect to your question the brand doesn’t matter), I’m a first time CMC user.

I also have many years experience in the scientific and technology industry of introducing new equipment and processes.

Without a shadow of doubt a CMC has to rate as one of the all time best process improvement I have ever come across.

Any CMC providing it is in good working order will be a great asset to your business and you will have no problem getting a very good return on your investment.

Wizard was not my final choice for a CMC, however it came a very close second.
