I bought a thumb drive to download for safekeeping the data on my Windows 98 computer. I went to the www. place to get the patch so that the thumb drive could work on the W98 (per the thumb drive directions) I carelessly hit a 'yes' when I should have hit a 'no' or some other choice, and the directions downloaded in traditional Chinese! I tried again, but my machine said "Hey! I got that stuff right here!" and showed me Chinese again. I emailed the company but I did it in English, so I never heard back on what to do... Can anyone help me? And remember, I need directions that start 1) take hands from pockets... Thanks all!

Amazon.com has "Fundamentals of the Chinese Language " in hardcover.

I'm just kidding

When you plug this device into your USB, try clicking on MY COMPUTER. See if a new drive letter appears. (Example, your A: is the floppy drive, C: is the primary hard drive, D: is the CD, and E: or even F: might be your new thumb drive)

If the drive letter appears, you're all set. You can save files to this virtual drive, which will go away when the device is unplugged. You can also copy files to or from it.

I hope this helps you get started in the right direction!

Ellen, I could send over my 19 month old daughter.

She somehow set the tv to a language I never knew existed. I think it's Elvish.

All the on screen directions come up this way so I can't even back track what she did.

It will just be easier for both of us to take night classes and learn these other languages.

This was really no help at all I realize, just wanted to let you know I share your frustration.

Ellen,

Exit Windows Explorer and rerun it. If that doesn't solve the problem, in Explorer go to tools, internet options, and try delete temporary files. Previously used pages are stored as temporary files to speed up any redisplay. Deleting them allows you to start over on a page. Hope that helps.

Ellen,

If the above suggestions fail, and if you’re looking just for the directions, have someone else on another machine download the patch for you and e-mail your the directions. Most likely the download site will not search your friend’s hard drive looking for the original.

I would offer to do it, but I have a Mac and it would be difficult (if not impossible) for me to open and translate the file(s) for you.

Well, I did all your suggestions (except the sending from another computer one, but thanks anyway, Bill!) and it works just fine now! (But the Chinese version is here to stay as well...) don't know EXACTLY how I worked around it, but Howard's is a results-oriented company, and we got results! Thanks to everyone!!!
