I do a lot of framing for artists and quite often they want a colorful frame - sometimes glossy.

Studio Moulding discontinued many of their "fun" colors. FrameMica's line does not hold up (I've heard by many). I brought in Le Cirque and it hasn't been received well (colors, profile and finish).

What other companies make a colorful (not muted), simple, quality moulding?

Thanks!

Roma has a very simple profile of laquer frames. I don't know what the line is called. Comes in red, white, blue, black and canary yellow. I have used them and the quality is very good.

Try Nurre Caxton. They have a great line of colorful laquers. They're quality is very good too.

Sherry,

Jay Goltz's line of Italian imports - distributed by the Vicki Schober Company is Milwaukee - is about the most fun you could have with moulding. Lots of bright colors in gloss finishes, inlays, as well as some gorgeous golds, silvers and wood veneers.

Oh, yeh, it's called Bella Moulding and Vickie's number is 800-541-7699.

stay away from mica mouldings as they do delaminate and may come back to haunt you...( beleive me I know).....I paint any frames now that require a unusual or bright colors...the local hardware stores have quite a variety of spray paints. Start with a moulding that has a very smooth and dull finish such as Studio's #2302...prime it(spray primer)...then spray it with the desired color..the results are excellent
