Anyone ever do one? How?

Customer lives in Chicago. I'm in Ohio. Customers live all over creation. She's thinking gift certificates only so she can have the money to spend here.

I really like this idea. Tell us if you implement it and how you went about it. I would think it would take a lot of advertising--local editons of Bride's magazines, Bridal Fairs, and so on.

This is to fulfill a specific customer's request and I don't plan on promoting it. I've got all the havoc I can handle right now without tempting new brides!

DO you use a POS? We are going to do a Wish List in the Group field of the cusomer contact card....
Then just delete items as others purchase... or add a comment...
We use FrameReady...

What an opportunity!

Does your bride-to-be client have the email addresses for her invitees? If so, you might set up an on-line gift registry at one of the internet sites like:

http://www.gogift.com/

If she doesn't, she could include a card in the invitation regarding the info... maybe that's something Emily Post wouldn't approve of... I don't know.

There are tons out there. My son did this for his wedding. He honeymooned at St. John's and participants could pay for a night(s) rental in his lodging, skin diving, hang gliding, and just about any other activity they wanted to participate in.

She or you could email out the registry information... or maybe they handle this... not sure.

They do take a percentage... I think about 10%, but it makes it seamless and an easy way for people to give a gift that the couple wants... your services!

How would you apply the list to framing?
Frame the photo, certificate, Ketubah, etc? You would need to set up prices for these so that the guests could give towards the item.

Great opportunity here. It just needs some details.

I don't remember what the helpful person posted here that I said was very classy. It's a 404 error now. Doh.

Anyone solve this yet?

I have another registry request and I really want to get this up over this weekend because it's for someone with Lou Gherig's disease and I want to do all I can for them.

Wedding season is coming up too so maybe it's something we can all benefit from. We get these requests a few times a year so there must be a market for it.

In this case we've selected framing for a bunch of different artwork that we are currently framing for this gentleman and we would like a place for his family and friends to click on them online and pay for the framing of one picture or a portion of one picture for his birthday.

No idea how to start solving this. Gunna go take a hike and think about it. Please post if you have info or ideas.

In the absence of something better I think what I'll do is create a post for them on my wordpress blog, which I *think* I can make private so it's only viewable by people the customer chooses to share the URL with and it won't be crawled by web indexers.

Then I'll list all his individual pieces with a Paypal Donate button next to each one so people can choose to pay for a whole framing or enter a different amount if they want to pay a partial amount. I'll have to have my Paypal account send the payment notifications to my cell phone so that I see when someone pays and I'll have to manually edit the remaining dollars needed on each picture.

Not ideal but I think it may work in a pinch. And I'm in a pinch! Anyone see any glaring flaws?

Would obviously need better solutions for a grander event like someone's wedding.

Not the first clue on how to accomplish this. Never even did a Paypal button before. I guess this is why we're closed on Holidays, I'll have some time to figure it out. I hope it works!
