Blue Paper Tape On Museum Glass

I was in the middle of telling a framing customer about putting blue paper tape
on glass when packing to ship, as shipping places do, when I remembered he's
getting museum glass. Does anyone here know if the blue tape would damage
that surface, or be fine to use?

I don't know about how it reacts with Museum glass but use care so the mask doesn't touch the moulding.

I got a very nice re-framing job because the glass mask used for shipping also covered the moulding and when removed it took half the finish off.

The original frame wasn't mine and some guy at a Fed-Ex store in CA did the packing.
