We have become habituated to using daubers on the mitre ends. I need new ones and see that United has them but does not/no longer carries black. Anyone know where I can get black daubers?

Thanks
Karl.

Aren't Sharpies likely to fade?

Oops, I didn't see Wally's post.

Personally I don't klke the color of the sharpies. too shiny and not really black.

If you use the Scuff Cover you don't have to do the ends before joining. On a joined frame you daub it on and wipe it off. It won't harm the finish even with a rottenstone toner on it.

Okay, we're talking about the cut miters right? So sharpie wouldn't be shiny at all, unless you put it on the finish of the moulding. But I thought we're talking bare wood (or other) here.
Usually my miters are tight enough so nothing shows. It's for the just in case scenario to color the mitre, right?

If we're talking about the cut mitres, I use a black dry erase marker. That way if a get any on the finish I can wipe it off. Sharpies seldom match the finish and don't wipe off too easy.

Thanks to all of you.

We don't use sharpies 'cause of the bluish black shine if you miss. But we will try the Kiwi.

Karl.

Bestine takes off the Sharpie finish that gets on the frame surface if you are not careful about your "daubing."
