Perfect color for two customer jobs - cut three mats (four openings) altogether from one board and even with brand new fresh razor sharp Hendrixson blade the bevels tore like I was an arteest trying to cut them with a dull butter knife.

I recut, sanded, filed, and touched up both the edge and the bevel with colored pencils.

Way worse than any of those soft Crescent whites we were all complaining about.

Grrrrr.....

Beware! Beware!

Oh, great.

Two oversize mats (B8528L) arrived in for a 10 piece project due in January.

Could be hair pulling next week.

Clive.

Hopefully its just an isolated bad sheet or batch, not the entire color everywhere :)

Yes, that board is an odd character. It is a great color but, in addition to the properties already mentioned, the red rubs off on other boards or on your hands if you aren't careful. So, be careful.

Must not be a popular color here. Thanks for the heads up. Going into the trash when I get back.

I guess I will toss the sample - but I probably have two more mats to do to match two of the ones I did already (and I have board left over, tra la tra la!).

It is a perfect match for the colors in the wedding outfits and flowers. Dang!

I have never once encountered any problems in Bainbridge boards. And the ATG pulls off almost all of the colored part of the surface paper.

Buh-bye!

I ran into this problem a couple of weeks ago. I replaced Bainbridge Garnet #8528 with Artique Cinnabar #A4805. (Crescent #1558 is also the same, but it would probably be worse than Bainbridge Garnet #8528!)
