Is anyone familiar Jack Richeson 'Best' stretcher bars? I was recently contacted by a rep and received a sample kit... very impressive wood & aluminum bar samples, available in custom & readymade sizes. Can get with corner keys, masonite corners, vertical/horizontal braces for large pieces, etc...

(I normally get stretcher bars through Evald, but Richeson seemed to have good prices)

Just wondering if anyone has/is using their stretcher bars (pdf catalog under stretcher bars & accessories)

Thanks for your feedback,

They were my "favorite" new cool thing at the WCAF and I will be demonstrating their bars at the next Striplining and Stretching Class.

I think their plastic cross support holders are, well, plastic and I would need to see them years later after aging to see how the plasticisers in them hold up.

Thanks for your opinion, Rob. Great to hear that you are (so far) pleased with their product!
I was not aware that the cross braces were plastic though. Everything appeared to be wood or aluminum.

I think Rob is referring to the hardware pieces that hold the cross braces.

Thanks, Rick. I was referring to the devices used to join the cross braces to the stretcher. Now if they had the same thing in a cast aluminum........

...or maybe even bent galvanized, like mini versions of that rafter hanger hardware you can buy at building supply places.

Excellent product

We just ordered and completed a 44 x 48 inch Medium Duty with Cross Braces. I was very impressed with the way the cross braces worked and believe that they will stand the test of time.

The pricing is reasonable, but more important is that the quality is excellent - sanded edges and great fit.

Love the corner keys as well....
