This will be my first trip to the Atlanta Show...I know, I'm slow, but it will be a buying rip so many vendors will be happy to see me. So, which is the best hotel? The closest? (The show web site is not very helpful) Not crazy expensive? And where the most fun people are? John Ranes said ya'll could tell me.

All the downtown hotels are basically nice with some more luxurious than others. All are going to be at least $100/night plus car parking fee, taxes and other hidden charges. Embassy Suites is great for convenience and the rooms are very nice. Stay clear of Motel 6. Check out some of the other areas in Atlanta as well.
The first year, I stayed near the research/university area for $39 at a new hotel, took the Marta in or a cab and still saved! The Buckhead area will be very pricey.
I think I am going to stay with family friends if I go this year or in the Little Five Points area.

Jean found me a hotel at www.hoteldiscount.com the price I got was about 35% less than the show's published prices.

It's a great site will only show the hotels that have vacancies for the days you want.

I went for Super 8 Hotel and Conf. Center there will be at least two other Grumblers who paid a visit to us in Ireland staying there also they have stayed there before and said it works out great for the show.
