I think I read once that there are special considerations for art that is being hung in a bathroom. Now that I have a piece I know is going in a bathroom I can't seem to find the information in any of my books. Anyone out there want to offer me some direction?

It's always a risk to put any frame package in a humid environment so the biggest factor is to try to minimize the humidity by making sure there is an exhaust fan and that it is used whenever showering, etc. Another directly related factor is air flow. Be sure to use bumpons in order to allow free flow of air behind the picture.

Sealing the back with a non-permeable material such as Tyvek also helps.

If the art is not replaceable it is well advised not to use it in any humid environment.

It is always better to hang the "Pin-Up" picture on the wall opposite the throne and NEVER behind the throne.

In mixed house holds, pastoral or cute bunnys are always more PC than a hot picture of Danica Patrick or a blown picture of a 340 Hemi in a Dart Max wedge clip, shaker hood and 6-pack with large meat Stones and Hookers.

Batchlorette bathroom should stick to photos of travels taken with hottie girlfriend..... not past BF.

Oops, wife is calling. Gotta go cook dinner and rehang that poster of Harry Potter. (When did he do that "peach shot" for Playgirl???)

Thank you Baer for picking up on what I was really getting at with my question! ;)

FYI WC obviously I am a failure at this search thing. I tried a search for this before I posted and came up with nothing. Sorry to rehash something so recent. But thanks for the post to previous thread!

Oh - you mean rabbets? woops - Rabbits

No worries! Besides, this way the thread gets bumped up, making it easier to find for next time. And Baer's information is very worthwhile!

...and that's coming from the Water Closet Framer!

;)

Dave, my mother would be so proud of you.

Do you also prefer the term "ice box" to "refridgerator", and use "victrola" in your modern vernacular?

(always love your comments!)

I do often use the term "icebox" and also talk about "record albums"!

Don't use the term "Victrola" however.
