We are going to start using barcodes with our POS software. Anyone have any favorites, ones they didn't like (Barcode readers, that is)

We use a WASP reader with our LifeSaver system here, and it works well. I would suggest checking with your POS vendor first to see what they recommend.

We also opted for the fixed position stand. (the laser reader sits in a bracket and we just wave the customer receipt/workorder/mat/moulding/art item underneath -- without having to physically touch the scanner)

I use Frame Ready POS & they supplied a "ZEBEX" barcode reader when I got their system. Your POS vendor should have a list of compatible barcode readers & should be able to help you set it up for their POS. I know the Frame Ready POS had a couple of required setups for the barcode scanner to work. Haven't had a problem with it

We are also using the Zebex with Frameready. Works great....now, if I can only get all the gift stuff coded into the computer, I'll be rockin'!!!!

We bought two very good barcode readers for our FrameReady system from ScanOnline in North Carolina (www.scanonline.com,) who were very helpful in choosing what we needed. The LS2208's run about $150 each and are somewhat better than the Zebex scanners for various reasons - no compatibility issues at all, they work very well.
