Australia takes action

Great on state run broadband .. will it work? maybe .. but in Australia isn't it called Sheilaband????

::duck:::

Gotta hand it to those Ozzies - They are ambitious :)

By 2018 - I would imagine that 100Mbps to the home would be somewhat slow based on the current growth of 'Sheilaband' speeds...

Seems our government is on a spending spree (we are getting handouts galore at the moment)... Who said that there was an economic downturn - someone may want to tell our Government ;)

You, too?

I have to commend Australia for trying to get all of its citizens high speed broadband. After all it’s going to be free so no one will have to pay for it. I’m sure that everyone in the town of Farina will be delighted – all twelve of them.

Sorry, for my sarcasm. I’m irritated by all governments, everywhere at the moment.

Bill,
Currently we have broadband in most of the populated parts of the country, but it's expensive!
I don't see this new variety of broadband being up and running very soon and I don't imagine that it will be priced reasonably either!

I think it would have been cheaper to launch a couple of satellites and provide faster broadband that way to the whole country. At least we would get it in our lifetime!

Like you, I am very synical of governments, especially ours!
