Hi! I am using Melinex to hold a magazine/book in a frame with 2 other items (original painting of the cover art of the book and the hand-drawn title). I want to see the edges, so I think I will cut a piece of mat the same size as the magazine so it will support half the thickness and then put 2 strips of Melinex (horizontal and vertical) around it.
My question.... what do I attach the Melinex with on the back of the mat? An answer in The Archives said linen tape. What do you folks use?

3M #889 or 3M #415.

The 889 is thinner and better for encapsulation.
The 415 is "more prevalent" in conservation circles.

I believe LJ sells the 415.

Forget Linen Tape. It will let go or migrate over time.
