I just used my attach EZ (I originally bought it for jerseys) to stretch my first cross stitch.

Amazing.

The entire process is so simple I'm surprised I did it the hard way for so long. 20 years in framing... and I looked down and it was just done.

It left me feeling like I had extra time I needed to waste. :icon11:

Amazing, innit?

I broke down and got my Attach-EZ kit when someone brought in five big lace doilies to frame. Paid for itself with the first job!

So what is the best value in Attach EZ... parts or the whole kit? I have been considering getting one for quite some time... I really dislike sewing jerseys.

When you used the Attach-EZ on the cross-stitch, were you matting over the cross-stitch to hide the tags? Also, did you tag all the way around, or just along the top edge? I absolutely hate pinning and lacing, which takes me FOREVER!

Hey Paul

Yes, the matting hides the tags. First you tag all four corners and then you go all the way around like you do with canvas (but its tagged).

I've done pinning too (never liked lacing) and I just love using the attach - EZ. I went with the kit for fabrics...does everything I need (its the 400SC). The video itself (which shows technique) really makes it worth it.

Do you tag into foam core or mat? Through the front or into the cut side of the foam?
I am so excited about the possibility of decreasing my mounting time for these things that I'm just giddy!

You tag through the front of the foam through all the layers...and its really very easy... I was AMAZED how easy it was to square the cross stitch.

The video walks you through it, step by step...and Pat's always just a phone call away.

You'll never regret buying it... the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner.

AttachEZ

I bought my AttachEZ kit a couple of years ago. I needed to do a jersey for a fundraising event and could not imagine the time that would be involved with sewing. Someone told me about Attach EZ so I got it, had a little trouble, went back to the video and tried again. I got it to do what looked so easy in the video and have used it several times since. I am not really an object framer but I do think it is nice to have something in the gallery to show what you are capable of doing and when things are this slow you need to show different things to attract business you normally would not have.

I had some questions about doing a Chinese Puppet recently and thought I would just try to call Pat to see if I could actually "talk" to someone. Wow! Was I surprised. She was so nice and helpful. It was like talking to an old friend. She offered to help, look at some photos and get back with me. She called me back and we had a lengthy conversation. She really didn't have to do that but was so willing and interested in what I was doing. I would recommend her kits and you know you can email her or talk with her and she will respond. Her video shows a lot of different projects and I would think that most of the time you could find something in the video that would relate to what you are doing and make it easy to go forward. If not...you know that Pat will talk to you about it. It was really fun to have someone that related to what I was doing and be excited about helping. You will not go wrong with any of her products I am sure.

I have never been excited about doing cross stitches but have always laced or pinned them. Both process take a lot of time and sometimes I was not always totally satisfied with the way the lines of the fabric lined up with the square of the mats. I had some patterns cross stitched with intentions of framing them to sell in the gallery. They are in a drawer in my framing studio waiting to be framed. Now that I have re-watched her video I am anxious to get them out and get them framed for the gallery. It really looks easy. Go Pat for your contribution to taking the misery out of so many framer headaches.

Pat also clued me in to this website and it has been very informative. Thanks for that as well, Pat.

Laura, Janet, and all the rest who had such nice things to say, thanks for the feed back. It is always nice to be appreciated. Laura, you should post those pictures you sent me of the Chinese shadow puppet. It was really incredible and you should proudly display it. If you haven't figured out how to bring a picture in yet, I can do it for you. I've never seen anything like it and I'll bet many framers haven't either.

You are welcome and deserve some credit for what you offer. Not only in your product but in the time you take to respond to framers that have questions. You are great at the TCB of your business and we all appreciate having someone to use as a sounding board. Thanks and for sure you are appreciated.

I do have quite a continuing post going on one of the other topics here about Chinese Puppet. You will see it. I was not successful in loading the photos but gave my web address and someone brought one of the photos from my website to the post section so people could see what we were talking about. Lots of interesting comments and it has been helpful for me to get past the disappointment I was feeling after the project was finished.

There are some of these puppets on ebay as someone pointed out but none are as large or as intricate as the one I framed. Only one has any any of the same make up but it is fun to see what they have to offer. Onward and upward. While my other framing business is down, I am planning on doing more object framing. Cross stitch pieces and I got a baby dress from a bussiness friend yesterday that has been trying to encourage me to do more of the unusual. I will send some photos once I have tried my AttachEZ out on all of these. Thanks so much!
