I'm listing a selection of restaurants for the September gathering. I tried to select a variety, were within a reasonable distance and had a web-stie you could log on to and look at the menu. Make your choice, and the one the most of us agree on is the one I will reserve. Atlanta Fish Market www.buckheadrestaurants.com 7.3 miles from World Congress Center chicken, steak, and pork available Seating for groups at 6:00pm. and 8:00pm. Park Tavern www.parktavern.com 2.9 mi. from Center overlooks Piedmont Park La Grotta Ristorante Italiano www.la-grotta.com 6.3 mi.from Center seating at 6:45 and 8:30 for large groups Pittypats Porch www.realpages.com/pittypatsporch 1.2 mi. from Center Southern Cuisine

I would suggest the Tavern, as it is close enough for walking, and the prices are not that bad. But, I'm open to any of them.

Pam,
They all sound good to me...one of each, please.
We'll go with the flow.

You must consider Pitty Pat's Porch. Great southern fried food. Great atmosphere, love that Rocking Chair Bar. In the heart of downtown. Everyone has to visit this one.

Comments and recommendations of a semi-native: Thumbs up to Park Tavern, although it's not quite as good as it was under previous ownership. Thumbs up as well to Pittypat's Porch. My thumbs down to la Grotta, overpriced, mediocre food and indifferent service. But hey, that's just me.

We'll do whatever, but have always wanted to visit PittyPat's Porch just because I was Scarlet O'Hara in my dreams--as a kid. And the first one who even thinks of snickering "In her dreams is right" gets that cyberwedgie everyone talks about.

But any of the above places will do as long as they have Cabernet and jalapenos.

Pitty Pat's Porch is within walking distance -- about five blocks as I recall -- from the Omni & the convention halls.

And the place gushes "southern hospitality". Good choice.

It looks like Pittypats is ahead. If there are no objections by Tuesday, I'll go ahead and make the reservations. I think we will get our own room. I'll be away Aug.12-19 for some R&R (riding and relaxation). I would like to get as much taken care of before I leave, in case here are any problems.

Pamela, Just to make it easier - I also vote for Pitty Pats! Excellent food & atmosphere, walking distance, and it would be great to have a separate room!

Thanks,Lyn

Wish I could be there. You MUST try the sweet potatoes at Aunt Pittypat's Porch, you've never had anything like it....Even if you don't have a taste for them, and I don't, these are special. The ribs are really good too. You all have fun!

Oh yeah, and you have to have desert, it's a rule.
