I don't want to start a fire storm here. I just wanted to relay some info that was posted this morning on Framer's Corner.
For those who are waffling about competing in either "Print" or "Open" this year... there is mo money on the table this year.
Plus "The Frankie" will be back again this year.

Now you can win even more money in the PPFA International Framing Competition, with one returning and three new Judges Award sponsors for the 2007-08 competition! Frank Chavez, owner of Frank's Fabrics is once again sponsoring a $250 award for Best Use of Fabric in the PRINT competition. Meadowbrook Insurance will sponsor $250 awards in both PRINT and OPEN categories for a total of $500 to be used at the judges' discretion – such as a special undesignated framing design, technique or new innovation. David Waldmann, president of Vermont Hardwoods, is sponsoring a $250 award for Best Use of Moulding in the OPEN competition. And Greg Fremstad from FrameTek is sponsoring $250 awards in both PRINT and OPEN for Best Shadowbox Design. Anyone interested in being a competition sponsor should contact Sheila Pursglove at PPFA, spursglove@pmai.org. Judging is set Jan. 30 in Las Vegas just prior to PPFA 2008, Jan. 31-Feb. 2. Entries will be on display in the upper west lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center south hall, where they may be viewed by 20,000+ PMA 08 attendees.
