Do you get all those annoying calls from resellers / telemarketers?

I just talked to the real AT&T - apparently they can put a note on your file to stop your info being handed off to the resellers! She said it should stop all the annoying calls!

Hope it works!!

You will have to give it about 30 days before you notice a difference. I went through the same thing, but now things are much better.

Good luck. I tried it but it didn't work for me.
I am no longer an AT&T customer.

I abuse those poor telemarketers. I sure it hurts international relations but they deserve it. I even had someone call me back and asked why I disrespect him. :soapbox: You catch them in a lie all holds removed. I would tell you what I do but this is an open forum and I'm sure some would find it wrong so it's my secret.

About 20 years ago, I got a guy so upset he started cussing and threating me. He was a prisoner that was being used as a telemarketer. Can you imagine giving him your CC#.

Well it's nice to be able to let your frustration out on someone 1/2 way around the world. #1 rule though is to never cuss or threaten the TM just ruin their day.

"That sounds really fun", Jays inner evil said.

Maybe we should make this a formal event with rules and such and record these calls! Who knows we could put them together sell cds and make a zillion dollars?

My favorite was a few months after I dumped AT&T they would call and want to upgrade my service. I'd tell them I don't even have AT&T and they would argue with me that I was their customer. That finally quit and I miss those little talks.

I simply canceled my AT&T and went to another phone service.

We did that years ago as well. We have used different companies ever since, none as bad as AT&T. We will never ever be their customer again.

I hardly get any telemarketing phone company calls, home or business.

Why can't you cuss at them? I can cuss or flip off someone in person why not an annoying worm halfway around the world?

What's the worse thing they will do, NOT call me again?

I mess with them all the time. Mostly I like to ask them to wait a minute then I put the phone down for 10 min, they are never there when I pick it up again. My thought is if everyone did that each time they got a call it would cut down on the amount of people they could call in a day.

I dunno Bob. I suspect they could just shell out another $5 and hire another 100 people.

I wish I had a "hold" button and could play the theme from Barney to them while they wait (sound familiar?). That or some of Slim Whitman's Yodeling like in "Mars Attacks!".
Their heads probably wouldn't explode, but just thinking they might brings out a certain guilty pleasure.

This is my favorite way to respond to the tellamarketers too Bob.

A friend of mine hands the phone to his 2 year old...obviously only works at home, unless you have child labor available in your shop (almost makes me want to have one?).

Well, it's been about four months without any AT&T calls. Wouldn't you know, this thread starts and their calls start again--got one again today. I have even blown a whistle into the receiver because I know the teles probably wear those headsets. They just kept on talking and I kept blowing. I think it hurt my ears and my "shop dog's" more than it did them.

I don't want to drop service with AT&T because too many businesses and individuals contact us by fax and online (ISP, too).

My employee talks to them so they can't get in a word. He'll ask them about their family, what they do when they are not calling and interrupting businesses, et. al. It aggrevates the $&*@ out of them.
