I'm brand new to the Grumble...

Does anyone have comments in regards to their experiences with Artteck visualization software?

I'm researching the various options, and I'm leaning in Artteck's direction - mostly because of the datafeed with pre-loaded mats and mouldings.

Obviously photographing art, mats and mouldings on site is time-consuming and requires the headache of extra hardware. It would also seem that any novice photographers I work with or technically challenged individuals would have problems.

Specifically with Artteck - is the datafeed kept constantly updated and is there a sufficient quantity of framing options? Any other problems or concerns with the software?

Any input would be appreciated.

I prefer working with a real-time photograph of the art and samples arranged on the design table. For convenience, I have recently begun storing a few moulding samples in the program I use, but it is not necessary to keep any samples in the program database.

With Artteck's program I would have to photograph and load a lot of my own samples, which come from small or obscure vendors that do not work with Artteck. I think keeping such a database of photographs up to date would be problematic. It's hard enough to do that with a POS system where each item consists simply of a number and description.
