I have still been playing with our PH pen. When I put a mark on the back of alpha cellulose or cotton rag mat, the mark is purple, meaning that it is acid free. When I put the mark on the back of the Artique, the mark leans closer to gray. Certainly, not clear purple.

Is the Artique not as good as the rest?

Susan, there is an article at the FACTS site about the reliability of pH pens. You may want to hunt it down and read it before you make any sweeping decisions based on your new toy.
