good mornin'

I am looking for some good distributors for art supplies. So far, i have C2F as a good possibility. I've looked into Richeson and a couple other smaller dealers (can't remember names right now). But like the selection of C2F.

anybody have any other suppliers.
I'll be selling these retail in my frame shop.

thanks a lot... and have a super saturday

Hey, Jack Richeson & Company is in Appleton.

Well, actually, Kimberly, which is stuck to the edge of Appleton.

Sorry, I have nothing constructive to contribute to your search. I get my own limited art supplies from Wisconsin Craft Mart, Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart. Only one gallery/frame shop in the area that I'm aware of carries any art supplies at all.

Check out www.dickblick.com. This is where I get almost all my art supplies. They seem to have the best no nonsense prices in the country. For example I just purchased 800# of plastaline from them for $1.18 / lb for a large sculpture. There is also a place called Mr.Art, that has good prices in quantities. I always check ebay if I am looking for a large order, just in case!

We've been in the art supply/framing buisness for over 25 yr now. We think it makes a good combination. C2F is good. The two biggest distributors we use are MacPherson's www.macphersonart.com and SLS www.slsarts.com . What you really want to do though is check out NAMTA, National Art Materials Trade Assoc. @ www.namta.org .Be sure and check out one of their shows if you can. Thats where you can really find out who will work with you. Good luck, Terry

Thanks for your info!
I will contact those sources you gave me.

Terry, you seem to have a firm grasp on this combo. Can i pick your brain in the future?

Thanks a mill

Stacie

Happy, the NAMTA convention is in Denver this year from about May 13-15. That is a great place to start out. SLS will be there, MacPhersons (our biggest distributor) and many others. We, however, due to a schedule conflict, won't be there. Hope they can deal with the disappointment! hehehe

Windsor Newton pulled all of their products from C2F, so if you are inclined to carry those items you will have to look elsewhere for them. I carry a limited amount of art supplies and now purchase from Ruels in Salt Lake City. Because I carry very little I need to deal with only company so as to make minimums. I have found that pricing is pretty much the same. Returns were difficult with C2F. Good Luck!

Do any of you happen to have floor plan samples, laying around? I have great experience in merchanidising, i just wonder how other people have thier supplies laid out, in the different types of spaces they have.

The only place to look for ideas (of how not to look, HA!) around here is Ben F...

thx stacie
