In a recent conversation with tech support at Fullcalc, I was told that a deal has been made for API to be bought and re-started by FullCalc's new parent company. He said there would be more details available at the New York show.

Would someone who's going to the show please ask about that and give us more info? I, for one, miss API and will be interested to hear more about this development.

Also, FullCalc's source code has been purchased by Michael's, FullCalc's largest user. FullCalc users were notified of this change in the newsletter that came with the latest update.

I too loved the old Art Print Index. I was disappointed to hear that the parent company of Art.com shut them down. I did discover a company called Art Source Inc. which markets the Vitrual Gallery. A very jazzy product (DVD-ROM) that is designed as a stand alone kiosk. However, it is a pricey subscription service at $57.00 a month and despite listing some 35,000 posters and limited editions I can't find everything I search for.

If Michael's bought out Fullcalc to add to their empire then I'm especially glad I went with Lifesaver. As long as Michaels doesn't buy out a major distributor I'll be happy. I don't like any one company owning too much of the market pie. Then they start being a market leader and dictating prices and supply. They become, gasp....Larson!
